Vienna, Austria – Real Sound Lab, developer and manufacturer of the CONEQ measurement technology for Acoustic Power Frequency Response (APRF) is proud to announce the use of CONEQ system on the tuning of the main P.A. at the Grand Opening of the Wiener Festwochen, the Vienna Arts and Music Festival in the capital of Austria.
Adolf P. Toegel, Head of Sound for the Vienna Arts and Music Festival made a decision to acquire CONEQ system for use on the Grand Opening of the Festival on the 9th of May, 2008. With an audience of more than 40.000 people and the event this year being the host for “Eurovision Young Musicians Competition”, the concert was exposed to many critical ears for the P.A. system.
Toegel measured the main P.A. system with CONEQ after the installation and used it to linearize the system for the performance of the acoustical instruments.
The idea behind CONEQ is to allow for an uncoloured image of the instrument through amplification with loudspeakers. Toegel used the main P.A. which consisted of 24 cabinets of the AS Audio LARS Line Array systems and which was tuned with CONEQ software. The result and response from the audience as well as from the artists speaks for itself, comments Toegel - “With CONEQ we had much less stress in tuning the P.A. system and we had more time to focus on the mix and performance, which made mixing very enjoyable”.
