The basic principle of CONEQ is highly advanced, but its operation is incredibly simple. In practice, CONEQ provides an ultra-high resolution 4096 point response correction to any sound system. More importantly, the corrective curve is based on a true Acoustic Power Measurement.

An SPL measurement, which by definition is the pressure response of a sound source at a single point in space, represents only a small part of the acoustic signature of a sound system. Conversely, an Acoustic Power measurement captures far more detail of the system’s actual behaviour.

CONEQ differs from virtually all known acoustical analysis products in use today, in that it acquires hundreds of measurement points around a loudspeaker or loudspeaker array in less than two minutes. It then integrates those points into a single response curve using a proprietary algorithm. The result is the true Acoustic Power Frequency Response of the sound system. Following the short data acquisition procedure, CONEQ automatically generates a 4096 point correction curve that renders the sound system literally ruler-flat. Total latency is less than 2 ms.

In addition to subjectively sounding better, CONEQ reduces feedback due to the phenomenally flat response curve it introduces into the system. Sweet spots are largely eliminated because the correction is based on hundreds of measurement points taken throughout the system’s coverage pattern, instead of just the one, or even several, SPL.

CONEQ can be used in live sound reinforcement applications, recording and post production studios, theatrical environments, AV presentations, and fixed installations of all types ranging from sports facilities and clubs, to court rooms and houses of worship.
