- General Questions
- I have double-clicked on the CONEQ shortcut icon on the desktop but CONEQ Workshop does not start. What is wrong?
- Check to see if the shortcut has the correct path to the CONEQ workshop application .exe file. If it does not, you will need to make a new shortcut to solve the problem. You can learn about shortcuts from Windows “Help” which is accessible from “My Computer” and “Explorer.”
- I have sent my request for a license to registration{at}realsoundlab.com but I have not received it yet. By accident I started CONEQ Workshop which generated a new Registration Key. Will the original ceq.lic file that I‘m waiting to receive still be valid?
- Yes, it will be valid. However, if you try to install CONEQ Workshop on another disk, a USB drive, or a different partition of your computer, this same license file will not be valid. The purpose of the registration and license is to link CONEQ Workshop to a particular computer, so that it can’t be used on other computers without authorization.
- Why is the ceq.lic file required?
- CONEQ took many years and a lot of money to develop. The ceq.lic file is our protection against unauthorized usage and distribution of the CONEQ™ Workshop application.
- If an update is released for CONEQ Workshop and I install the updated application, will I need to acquire a new ceq.lic file?
- NO. The same ceq.lic file will be valid for updates. However, if an entirely new version of CONEQ Workshop with new functionality is released and sold as a new product, a new license file will be required.
- I downloaded CONEQ™ Workshop and I see a self-extracting ZIP file. How do I start the Installation?
- Double-click on the self-extracting zip file to begin the installation process.
You will need to create a CONEQ Workshop application folder. This can be done by right-clicking on Windows “Start” and left-clicking on “Explore.” Highlight your root directory (which is usually C:) and select “New Folder” under “File” in Explorer. Name the folder “CONEQ Workshop.” Copy all of the extracted files to this folder. We recommend installing the software as close to the root directory as possible.
- I have installed CONEQ Workshop. When I attempt to run it, the following screen appears: "Licence file not found!" After clicking OK, this next screen appears: "Your registration key". What do I do next?
- In order to run CONEQ Workshop, you first must acquire a valid license. Follow the step outlined below:
- First, copy the registration key to the WindowsTM clipboard by pressing the “Copy to Clipboard” button on the pop up window (see screen above) or by using Ctrl+C.
- Next, copy the registration key into the body of an e-mail frame by using Ctrl+V or the Windows “Paste” command, and send it to: registration{at}realsoundlab.com
- You will receive a license within 24 hours. The license will be in the form of a small file named “ceq.lic” attached to the return email.
- Copy the license file to the folder where you previously installed the CONEQ Workshop software components.
VERY IMPORTANT! The ceq.lic file must be copied to the same folder where the other CONEQ Workshop application files are located. If the ceq.lic file is not copied to this same folder, the application will not start and you will be asked to register again. A new Registration Key will be generated.
Make sure ceq.lic file has the extension “.lic”. If it does not, correct it to “.lic” before starting the application. Some web based e-mail servers can change the extension of an attachment during e-mail transmission.

- What versions of Windows does CONEQ Workshop run on?
- CONEQ Workshop runs under Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or higher. Although it may run under Windows Vista, but Windows XP is the recommended Operating System.
- Why it is important to save ceq.lic file in the same folder where the other CONEQ™ Workshop application files are located?
- If you copy the ceq.lic file to another folder, you will not be able to start CONEQ Workshop. When you attempt to start it, a new Registration Key will be automatically generated.
